Canadian band Saga has found their new vocalist.
Rob Moratti from Toronto is the veteran group's new lead singer after holding live auditions and Internet auditions.
Moratti, who was Final Frontier's frontman, is replacing Michael Sadler, who departed late last year to spend more time with his family.
"I feel great about Rob joining the band,” said guitarist Ian Crichton. “We're planning Canadian shows and looking at going back to South America, hopefully in September. A new CD is in the works and with Rob Moratti on board
it will be great. That should be followed up with an extensive tour in
Europe in March 2009."
The progressive rock quintet, formed in Oakville in 1977, used YouTube to audition some singers by recording two of their biggest hits — On The Loose and Wind Him Up — as instrumentals. They then asked candidates to download them, and videotape themselves and then post them on YouTube.
It was reported more than 20 singers submitted demos from across the Atlantic and Caribbean.
